Granite Installation, Houston

Granite installation at Rock Fin in Houston is part of our entire countertop process, from choosing your favorite granite color in our showroom, to the moment we seal your granite after installation in your home!

We offer a vast variety of granite colors!

Rock Fin in Houston features a multitude of granite colors, all of which can be viewed in our showroom where one of our experienced sales people can help you begin the color selection process.  We even have 4” x 4” samples of all colors displayed in our showroom that you can take with you to match your interior.  Once your color choices are narrowed down, we’ll direct you to one of our slab yards that has the slabs you are looking for.  We are conveniently located within three to four miles of over ten different slab yards!

Having your slab templated:

Your next step, after choosing your granite and right before you have it installed, is having your slab templated.  This is the process where we precisely design your countertop to your specifications and the dimensions in your indoor kitchen, outdoor kitchen, or bathroom.  We’ll set up an appointment so you can visit us in our fabrication facility to make sure the layout of your slab meets your approval.

The granite installation process:

Our installation process is quite easy after your slab has been templated.  Rock Fin in Houston offers demolition services, so if you need your existing countertops removed, we can tear them out and deck it with new plywood all in the same day as your installation.  As we’re installing your granite, we’ll cut out an area for your sink right there on the job site to make sure our dimensions are accurate.  We’ll place the seams of the granite on long runs based on the size of your slab, location of the cook top, sinks, dishwasher and other variables.  We always do our best to minimize the number of seams, but we do ask that you discuss with our template personnel regarding seam location.

Once your granite is fully installed, we’ll seal it with a silicon impregnator. Sealing is a simple process that only needs to be performed once a year.  We’ll show you how to properly seal your granite and we even have sealers available to purchase.
